AE Architectes is a contemporary architecture practice based in Marrakech, Morocco, founded in 2022 by Aimad El Kanit — a graduate of the École Nationale d'Architecture in Rabat (ENA) and registered with the National Order of Architects of Morocco. The practice specialises in luxury villas, high-end residences, villa compounds and commercial buildings in Marrakech and its region.

We design buildings that are precise, elegant and — critically — actually buildable. Every detail we draw is transmitted to contractors as construction drawings. What we design is what gets built. This distinction matters: too many projects in Marrakech look spectacular on paper and disappoint on delivery.

Is AE Architectes registered to practice in Morocco?

Yes. Aimad El Kanit is a graduate of the École Nationale d'Architecture de Rabat (ENA) and is registered with the Ordre National des Architectes du Maroc. This registration is legally required to sign building permit applications in Morocco.

Does AE Architectes work in English?

Yes. We work with international clients from the UK, USA, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland and beyond. All project communication can be conducted in English or French. We produce weekly site reports in your preferred language.

How many visits to Marrakech are required during a villa project?

With a local architect managing the project on the ground, most international clients visit 2 to 3 times: an initial site visit, a mid-construction visit, and the handover. Everything else — design approval, contractor selection, site monitoring — is managed remotely with weekly updates.
